We usually decorate for Christmas the Saturday before Thanksgiving, and so even though these pictures are from Turkey Day... we were all ready for Christmas! (minus the tree)
I love this tradition because as soon as the dishes are done on Thanksgiving Day, we are ready for Christmas!

I'm not sure there are any other girls in the whole world who are loved quite as much as these little girls. How thankful I am to be their mommy and how blessed I am to have them in my life.
Drooling chins and all.
We hosted Thanksgiving for the very first time this year! Maya was such a big helper while we prepared the house for company. She worked hard on writing everyone's name on place cards and then decorating them for the table.
For Thanksgiving dinner we had six adults, two teenagers, three children, and two babies.
We probably could have squeezed everyone at the same table, but I think having a little "kids table" is so fun. Our guests were the Kissel Family and the Jarrett Family, very dear friends here in Vermont.
Everyone contributed to our meal which made hosting totally easy. My job was the turkey! I was so proud of my very first (and successful!) turkey! I brined this sweetie all on my own, and I think it turned out beautiful!
Thank you, very much.
I was also in charge of our rolls, cranberry sauce, and fruit salad. What a pretty plate!
Kristen and Tina made all the pies - and they were so delicious!
We were so grateful to have good friends to spend the holiday with. I think Thanksgiving is the perfect way to open the holiday season.
Isn't my husband cute?
He had Thanksgiving Day off and it was so nice to have him here to celebrate with us!
PS
The day after Thanksgiving, we met Tommy DaPaola at the Norwich Bookstore.
He is one of my favorite children's authors, and it was really very fun meeting him in person.
What a nice man he is.

YES, your husband is cute. GREAT pictures of him. Your house is adorable. Will you come help me put mine back together? Christmas is almost put away (insert crying here) and we re-organized our basement and hate it. Grr.
