We've had the most bizarre experiences with wildlife while living in New Hampshire and Vermont.
Just to name a few...
-We had fat a resident skunk who liked to sit on our back pork in Sachem every single night.
-Countless mice were killed at our apartment in Sachem.
-Our kitchen was infested with flying squirrels in Quechee.
-Not to mention the mice in Quechee.
-Our first week living in Wilder, we had a skunk chew through a basement window and hang out in our house for who knows how long, before I chased him out.
-We also had an infestation of drunk bumble bees in our kitchen in Wilder.
-We had several mice visit us in Wilder as well, chewing through brand new carpet the day after it was installed.
-And last but not least, we enjoyed a mommy fox and her five babies living in our backyard for several weeks.
My favorite? The foxes! They were so cute! They played on our jungle gym and jumped around and pranced all day long. One morning Maya came into our bedroom in tears because she had wanted to play with the baby foxes, but when she went out to play with them, they ran away. Now, Maya has an amazing imagination and so I wasn't certain the baby foxes really existed. But sure enough, a few days later, our backyard was full of baby foxes... and their Mommy.
They left our yard just a few days before we moved. But we sure enjoyed watching them play and grow while we packed up our boxes in Wilder, VT.
